ORDINANCE NO.  7950

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 7816 INCREASING THE

            APPROPRIATED FUNDS FOR THE STORM WATER FUND FOR THE

            CALENDAR YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2005

Whereas, the Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas desires to increase the 2005 budget for the Storm Water provide in order to provide authority for the payment of debt service, and

Whereas, on the 27th day of November, 2005, the Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas caused to be published in the Lawrence Daily Journal World, a daily newspaper of general circulation within Douglas County, Kansas notice of a public hearing to be conducted on December 13, 2005 at 6:35 pm, or as soon thereafter as the matter could be heard in the City Commission Chambers, City Hall, Lawrence, Kansas for the purpose of hearing and answering questions of taxpayers relating to the proposed budget amendment, and

Whereas, such public hearing was held at the time and place designated for the purposes stated, all as provided in the published notice of said hearing.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS

Section I   The above stated recitals are by reference incorporated herein and made a part of the ordinance as if copied in length.

Section II   Ordinance No. 7816 that adopted the 2005 budget by the City of Lawrence, Kansas is hereby amended to increase the Storm Water budget to $9,005,379.

Section III   The Governing Body certifies that the amended amount will be funded by a non-property source of revenue.
