Proclamation

Lawrence, Kansas

WHEREAS:       Lawrence is the City of the Arts; and

WHEREAS:       Dance Across Lawrence partners consist of The Lied Center, The Lawrence Arts Center, the KU Department of Dance, and participating dance instructors and dancers; and

WHEREAS:       Dance Across Lawrence was created to help expose the people of our community to different types of movement and promote the art of dance; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mike Amyx, Mayor of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, do hereby proclaim Saturday, March 31, 2007 to be

“DANCE ACROSS LAWRENCE DAY”

and welcome home Karole Armitage, Lawrence native and choreographer extraordinaire.
