Subject: Pesticide-Free Parks--Request to Be Added to Commission Agenda

Dear City Manager,

I am contacting you on behalf of the Pesticide-Free Parks Project.  In

2005, our group was asked by the Parks and Recreation Department to

coordinate the volunteer efforts in Watson Park.  We would now like the

opportunity to share with the City Commission our recommendations

regarding Pesticide-Free Parks Program improvements.

In June 2005, the commission decided to create a 1 year pesticide-free

pilot project and then to revisit the issue.  We are now nine month past

that deadline.  I have spoken to Mayor Mike Amyx and Commissioner Boog

Highberger, and both agree that it is reasonable to schedule this item

to be heard at a general commission meeting in March.  The

Pesticide-Free Parks Project is also in agreement and would like the

opportunity to deliver a short presentation to the City Commission at an

upcoming March meeting.

I look forward to working with you and your office regarding scheduling.

Sincerely,

Marie Stockett

Coordinator of the Pesticide-Free Parks Project
