I-Codes update

The attached memo contains an update of the trade boards’ review of the International Codes.

1^st Quarter 2007 accident report for Iowa Street from Harvard to University.

The City Commission previously requested quarterly updates on accidents on Iowa Street from Harvard to University. From January-March 2007 there were 7 reported accidents on this stretch of Iowa:

§ January 5 – between Stratford & University

§ January 19 – between Harvard & Orchard

§ January 20 – at University

§ February 6 – between Oxford & Stratford

§ February 13 – at University

§ March 8 – between Harvard & Orchard

§ March 9 – between Stratford & University

The report on accidents from April-June 2007 will be available in August 2007.

Mill and overlay program

Phase 1 of the mill and overlay program is underway. The attached photos are Campfire Drive and Arizona.

Wednesday Night Band Concerts at South Park

Over 2,000 people attended the Lawrence Parks & Recreation Wednesday Night Band Concert held in South Park on June 20 (see photos). The Wednesday Night Band Concerts are held every week from May 30-July 18. The band is made up of K.U. Band retirees and has been in existence for over 61 years. The June 20th concert theme was the "Greatest Show on Earth". The schedule for the remainder of the summer is:

§ July 4th - "Lawrence Fourth of July Celebration"

§ July 11th - "76 Trombones and the Music Man"

§ July 18^th – “Gala finale" with fireworks.
