Ohio Street, 6th Street to 8th Street

Brick Street Reconstruction

 

Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the September 11, 2007 meeting:

Project DetailsIn 2005 the City submitted a Transportation Enhancement application for the Reconstruction of a Brick Street (Ohio Street between 6th Street and 8th Street).  The project would consist of removing the existing road, cleaning/salvaging the brick and stone curb, subgrade treatment, placement of a concrete foundation, and replacement of bricks.

 

Project Status.  Staff is designing the project. It is anticipated to bid in December/January with a construction date of next spring/summer. A public/neighborhood meeting will be held in September.  Staff has been working/coordinating with the Historic Resource Administrator.

 

Project Funding.  This project is in the 2008 CIP.  This is an 80%/20% (KDOT/City) funded project (construction and construction engineering costs).  The estimated project costs are $979,895 (KDOT approximately $783,916; City approximately $195,979).

 

Action Request.  Authorize Mayor to execute City/State Agreement for this project.
