The meeting was called to order by Derek Felch. Johnston moved, Felch seconded to approve the minutes as presented.  Motion carried.

Judge Tacha and Lavern Squier addressed the CVB board to discuss the proposal for Destination Management, Inc., which would become the contracting agency for the City of Lawrence to manage the CVB and Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area.

Old Business

Continued discussion from July’s earlier meeting regarding the Board’s position of the relationship between the CVB, the Chamber and Heritage Area. Christilles moved to support the moving from the oversight of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce to the Destination Management, Inc. entity. Longhurst second. Motion carried.

New Business

Longhurst moved to amend the minutes from the CVB meeting on 7/03/2007 where the board’s position regarding the relationship between the CVB, the Chamber, Heritage Area was discussed. Specifically, that the Advisory Board would approve that the CVB would become its own entity that would manage FFNHA.
