          It is my pleasure to submit the following application for the Transportation Enhancement Program in the Pedestrian and Bicycle Category on behalf of the City of Lawrence.  The Burroughs Creek Rail Trail Project is one of the City’s highest priority projects.  The application represents the combined goals of the community to providing pedestrian/bicycle routes and connectivity throughout the community.  The City of Lawrence is committed to enhancing the lives of its citizenry by providing the best, safest recreation and transportation network possible.
