ONE (1) ROUGH MOWER FOR EAGLE BEND GOLF COURSE – B07069

The Parks and Recreation Department requested bids for a rough mower for Eagle Bend Golf Course.  The rough mower mows approximately 100 acres per week and has the capability to mow contours with a quality cut.  It is imperative to have a quality cut on these areas.  The golf course operates two of this type of mower. Due to the need for this mower to flex and adjust to berms and sloped terrain while mowing the golf course rough, the metal arms and pivot point on the mower fatigue after  4 or 5 years of use. This fatigue causes uneven cutting and maintenance issues for the belts and drive joints. The low bid from Van Wall Equipment offered a trade in price of $550.00 for the existing mower.  We feel that is a reasonable price for the use it has had and its condition.  This purchase was budgeted in the 2007 budgeting process.
