NOTICE OF HEARING

THE STATE OF KANSAS TO ALL PERSONS WHO ARE OR MAY BE CONCERNED:

Take notice that on the 9^th day of September, 2008, at 6:35 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, the Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, will convene in the Commission Meeting Room, 1^st Floor, City Hall, 6 East 6^th Street, Lawrence, Kansas for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on the petition of Oread Inn, LLC, wherein prayer is for the Governing Body of the City to waive the distance limitation in Section 4-113(A) of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2008 Ed., and amendments thereto,  prohibiting the sale and serving of alcoholic liquor within 400 feet of a school or church.  The petitioner is seeking to open a Hotel and Catering establishment and serve alcoholic beverages at the establishment.  The Ecumenical Christian Ministries, 1204 Oread Avenue, is within 400 feet of the future Hotel.

Said petition has been filed in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, and referred to the Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, for hearing and determination.

At said time and place all interested persons can appear and be heard under said petition.
