City Manager’s Report 2/26/2013  – 5th Annual Stakeholder’s meeting – Public Works

 

 

The Public Works Department held its 5th annual stakeholders meeting on February 13.

 

This is an opportunity each year to get the stakeholders that work with the Public Works Department together to discuss the past year, the upcoming construction year, grow our partnership and to provide training on new city items.

 

This year was another successful meeting that included; Updates on the pavement maintenance program progress, Review of the overall pavement condition index (PCI) and deterioration rates, the new City of Lawrence combined specification and standard detail books, a presentation on the changes to pedestrian traffic control in work zones, 2013 CIP presentation,  discussion on a proposed change on how the department handles plans that are going out for bids – through a “plan room”, and finally an update on the new requirements for residential driveway approach, sidewalk and curb inspections.

 

We look forward each year to getting together with our partners and will continue this meeting for years to come.
