RE:	2013 Vehicle Purchase

In 2012 the police department completed testing of the next generation of Ford police interceptors.  The Ford Police Utility Interceptor was identified as the best overall solution as a true first responder vehicle. In early 2013 a request for eight (8) Ford Police Utility Interceptors were put out to bid.  On February 19^th the bids were received and Shawnee Mission Ford was the low bid at $205,600.00.  Laird Noller Ford was the local vendor and they did not meet the requirement for local preference.

Funding:

The Police Department has a total of $207,252.00 in the capital improvement line item for vehicle replacement.   

Action Request:

Award City Bid No. B1307: Eight (8) 2013 Ford Police utility Interceptors to Shawnee Mission Ford in the amount of $205,600.00.
