Background

On April 1, 2013, the Traffic Safety Commission heard a request to establish NO PARKING along one side of Sharon Drive, north of Trail Road. The request referenced the width of the street and the difficulty for two-way traffic with vehicles parked on both sides of the street.

Traffic Safety Commission Action

At the Traffic Safety Commission meeting, one (1) resident on Sharon Drive spoke in favor of the request and two (2) residents spoke in opposition to the request noting that parking has never been a problem and restricting it could increase the speed of traffic. The Commission felt that the arguments against the proposal made sense. A motion to deny the request was approved unanimously by the Traffic Safety Commission, 8-0.
