RE: |
Project PW1227 - Dillons Store Traffic Control Project
|
Project Description
As part of the redevelopment of the Dillons Store at 1740 Massachusetts Street, Dillons has agreed to allocate a maximum of $40,000 for traffic control on the residential streets east of the store in the Barker Neighborhood. Funds are to be spent within one year of the store opening on September 5, 2012.
City staff met with the neighborhood and the consensus from the neighbors were to install speed humps. A total of seven speed humps are proposed to be installed as traffic calming for the area and will be installed on 17th Terrace and 18th Street between New Hampshire Street and Barker Street and on New Hampshire Street between 17th Street and 19th Street (see attached map).
Project Funding
The estimated project cost is $40,000; funding is available through the Dillons store agreement.
