2013 Street Division Mid-Year Report

The Public Works Street Division has been very busy the first part of 2013.  It began with above average snow events in January and February to an aggressive construction season through June.  Attached is a summary of work completed through mid-year. 

Planning Submittals Now in Interactive Map Format

The City of Lawrence recently launched a revised website that provides information on projects that have been submitted to the Planning and Development Services Department for review.  These projects include site plan, design reviews, preliminary plats, rezoning requests and special use permits.  The map can be found online at lawrenceks.org/pds/submittals/.  When you select a project to view, if there is supporting documentation, including applications and site plans, the documents are easy to view in Adobe PDF format. 

Database Administrator Tim Hanzlik and Web Developer Chris Stringer were integral and worked together complete this project.  The listings are meant to provide a ‘snapshot’ of current activity in the Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Office.  This list is only for current submittals and is updated every Monday, based on submittals from the previous week. Each project listed has a planner's name attached to it. 

The city formerly provided the submittals listing in e-mail format, however, now the information is available any time by logging on to the new system so the e-mail list will not be maintained as an active distribution method.
