Project Description

As part of the redevelopment of the Dillons Store at 1740 Massachusetts Street Dillons has agreed to allocate $40,000 for traffic calming in the Barker Neighborhood.  Two meetings were held with the Barker Neighborhood to discuss the locations of speed humps.

 

Seven speed humps are proposed to be installed as a traffic calming for the area to the east of the renovated Dillons at 1740 Massachusetts (see attached location map).  The speed humps will be installed on 17th Terrace and 18th Street between New Hampshire Street and Barker Street and on New Hampshire Street between 17th Street and 19th Street.

 

Project Funding

$40,000 has been allocated by Dillons.  The balance will come out of the Capital Improvement Reserve Fund.

Anticipated Award Bid: July 23, 2013

Anticipated Start Date: Late July, 2013

Project Completion Date: August 31, 2013

 

Bid Evaluation / Recommendation

Staff has evaluated all bid proposals to check for accuracy, completeness and other applicable criteria. As shown in the Summary Table, the bid proposal from Vintage-Greenmark, Inc. offers the lowest and best total bid price for this project. Staff recommends “Award of City Bid No. B1345” to Vintage-Greenmark, Inc.

 

Action Request

Award City Bid No. B1345:  Dillons Store Traffic Calming to Vintage-Greenmark, Inc. in the amount of $48,721.00 provided the contractor can meet the terms established in the contract documents.
