Purchase of two (2) Half ton trucks

 

Background

The City Commission authorized funds for the replacement of engineering department equipment in the 2016 budget process.  Bids were sent as required by the City’s purchasing policy.  Units 719, a 2000 Chevrolet 1500, and 720, a 2002 Ford Ranger, have been identified as units at the end of their useable life.  Both units have high repair costs and meet the City’s replacement criteria. The equipment replacement schedule is based on age, mileage, hours of use, and cost of maintenance and upkeep.

 

Staff Recommendation

Central Maintenance Garage and Engineering staff recommend the purchase of two (2) half ton trucks from Laird Noller Ford following the city’s one percent local preference policy.

Funding

Authorize the Engineering Division to purchase two (2) half ton trucks form Laird Noller Ford for the amount of $45,118 following the City’s one percent local preference purchasing policy.
