Executive Summary: |
Continue public hearing to consider a vacation request submitted by Aaron Gaspers with Cook, Flatt & Strobel Engineers, P.A., for Fairfield Farms 3 LLC, to vacate strips of land in Fairfield Farms East Addition No. 1, an Addition to the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas. The areas to be vacated were easements dedicated by separate instrument and do not contain existing facilities.
At the December 19, 2017 City Commission meeting, the public hearing was opened and continued until January 16, 2018 for staff to meet with stakeholders to discuss the vacation request. A public open house meeting was held January 9, 2018 at Cook, Flatt & Strobel Engineers office at 2121 Moodie Road in Lawrence. There were two (2) people in attendance and all their questions were answered.
Fairfield Farms East Addition No. 1 is being re-platted in phases and easements will be re-established by future plats. Attached is the approved preliminary plat that indicates future right-of-way and easements in Fairfield Farms.
Staff recommends approving the Order of Vacation. |
