Recommendations/Options/Action Requested:

 

Adopt Resolution No. 7240, declaring the City’s intent to issue general obligation bonds in the amount $520,000.00 for the design, construction, reconstruction, repair, replacement and/or equipping certain public buildings and facilities of the City of Lawrence, Kansas.

 

Executive Summary:

This resolution allows for the replacement of the roof at the Lawrence Arts Center and upgrades to City Hall fire alarm, Halon system and access controls. These items were identified and included as part of the City’s 2018 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). This resolution allows for the issuance of general obligation bonds to pay for these improvements.

Fiscal Impact (Amount/Source):

The fiscal impact to the City is $520,000.00. These projects are included in the 2018 CIP:

-       PW18B6CIP Arts Center reroof $400,000.00 and

-       PW18B5CIP City Hall fire alarm panel and general maintenance $120,000.00.
