|
Conduct the public hearing regarding the fire-damaged structure (house) located at 541 Perry Street. Staff recommends that the City Commission adopt Resolution No. 7238 declaring the structure located on the property to be unsafe and dangerous, and directing staff to demolish and remove the structure if the owner fails to substantially repair or demolish and remove the structure by March 30, 2018, with the incurred costs and expenses to be assessed against the property. |

Executive Summary: |
On February 20, 2018, the City Commission opened the public hearing that was established by Resolution No. 7234, and deferred the hearing until March 6, 2018 at the request of Berniece Garber.
Staff has attached memorandums dated December 27, 2017 and February 20, 2018 that provide a summary of Staff’s enforcement actions taken to date.

The fiscal impact to the City would be the cost incurred for the City to demolish and remove the structure, which would be determined through a bid process. A lien would then be assessed against the property in accordance with K.S.A. 40-3901 et. seq. |
