Recommendations/Options/Action Requested:
Authorize the City Manager to execute a license agreement with Greyhound Lines, Inc. for the use of the City’s right-of-way for a bus stop on 7^th Street between Kentucky Street and Vermont Street.
Executive Summary:		The Greyhound Bus provides daily service to Lawrence on its route between Topeka and Kansas City three times a day at 8:55 am, 1:55 pm and 5:50 pm. On March 7, 2017, the City Commission approved a license agreement with Greyhound to use the City’s right-of-way for a bus stop on 7^th Street between Kentucky Street and Vermont Street.  Four parking stalls have been removed to accommodate an area for the Greyhound bus to pull over and load/unload passengers.  This area, on the north side of the Library on 7^th Street, appears to be working out for Greyhound and they would like to continue with the current agreement.  The Library suggested that a concrete pad and bench be installed so passengers had some place to sit while waiting for the bus.  The license agreement provides a $500/mo. fee and a reimbursement of up to $1,500 for the installation of a bench. Greyhound has agreed to the terms of the agreement.

Fiscal Impact (Amount/Source):		For the use of the right-of-way, the City will receive $500 per month compensation. Greyhound will also reimburse the City for improvements (bench) up to $1,500.
