Executive Summary: |
In 1997, the City and Berkeley Plaza, Inc. entered into a lease agreement for Municipal Court and the City Prosecutor’s Office at 1006 New Hampshire. The lease agreement has been amended and renewed with the current lease, the Fourth Amendment to Lease, expiring on April 12, 2018.
Berkeley Plaza, Inc. has agreed to extend the current term for an additional six months at the current monthly base rent of $7,837.42, with the lease continuing on a monthly basis thereafter, if notice is provided by the City, with a 10% increase in base rent after October 12, 2018. This extension will allow Municipal Court and the City Prosecutor’s offices to remain in their current location while plans are finalized for a future location, as discussed in this Staff Memo at the April 11, 2017, City Commission Work Session. |
