Recommendations/Options/Action Requested:
Approve request to prohibit parking on the east side of Ousdahl Road in the vicinity of 19^th Terrace, 20^th Street and 20^th Terrace and adopt on first reading, Ordinance No. 9449, prohibiting the parking.
Executive Summary:		At the March 5, 2018 Transportation Commission meeting, the board considered a request to prohibit parking on the east side of Ousdahl Road in the vicinity of 19^th Terrace, 20^th Street and 20^th Terrace.   The request was made by the Schwegler Neighborhood Association.  City staff recommended denial of the request because limiting parking on one street will displace the vehicles to another street in the area. Several area residents spoke at the Transportation Commission meeting and supported the request.  The Transportation Commission voted 9-0 to recommend no parking on the east side of Ousdahl Road 75’ in each direction from 19^th Terrace, 20^th Street, and 20^th Terrace to aid in visibility for vehicles and pedestrians.  City staff supports the recommendation and believes that localized parking needs near KU should continue to be studied as the Parking Strategic Plan is implemented to address similar concerns on other streets.

Fiscal Impact (Amount/Source):		Approval of the request, as recommended, will have a $375 impact to the Traffic Engineering Sign Material budget.
