ORDINANCE NO. 9476
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:
SECTION 1: From and after the effective date of this ordinance and the installation of appropriate traffic control devices, the parking of vehicles is prohibited:
(a) along the east side of Massachusetts Street, commencing at the right of way line of East North Park Street and ending at the right of way line of East 14th Street, in Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas; and
(b) along the west side of Massachusetts Street, commencing at the right of way line of East South Park Street and ending at a point 250 feet south of right of way line of East 13th Street, in Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas.
SECTION 2: Pursuant to Section 17-405 of the City Code, 2018 Edition and Amendments thereto, the City Engineer is hereby directed to amend the City’s “Schedule of No Parking”, maintained in the office of the City Engineer, to include therein, as locations where the parking of vehicles is prohibited, those portions of the east side of Massachusetts Street from East North Park Street to East 14th Street and those portions of the west side of Massachusetts Street from East South Park Street to a point 250 feet south of East 13th Street, as described in more detail in Section 1.
SECTION 3. If any section, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is found to be unconstitutional or is otherwise held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect the validity of any remaining parts of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
