Executive Summary: |
The Holcom Park North Parking Lot project (PR1706CIP) was approved for funding by the City Commission as part of the City’s 2018 CIP process. This project will provide an improved asphalt parking surface on the North side of the Holcom Sports Complex.
Bids were opened for this project (Bid No. B1842) on July 31, 2018. Following are the bids received:
Municipal Services & Operations and Parks and Recreation staff reviewed the bids and recommend approval of the low base bid provided by Little Joe’s Asphalt Inc. for $126,101. The alternate bids requested, as shown on the attached bid tab, would have left a portion of the project unfinished. Staff recommends completing the entire project with available funds in the Parks and Recreation budget.
The project (CIP# PR1706) was originally budgeted for $105,000 based on staff’s cost estimates from early 2017 when the project was originally proposed for inclusion in the CIP. The $21,101 overage can be attributed to further deterioration of the parking lot over the past 17 months. This additional funding is available in the 2018 Parks and Recreation Maintenance and Repair fund (CIP# PR1801) which is budgeted in the Parks & Recreation General Fund budget.
