Recommendations/Options/Action Requested:

 

Conduct a public hearing to consider a vacation request submitted by Randy & Beth Ham, to vacate 15 feet of Right-of-Way on 12th Street adjacent to the north side of 1201 Connecticut Street.

 

Executive Summary:

The proposed vacation is for 15 feet of Right-of-Way on 12th Street adjacent to Lot 141, also known as 1201 Connecticut Street.  The property owner is seeking the vacation to increase the usable size of the yard. 

 

12th Street is classified as a residential street which requires a minimum right-of-way of 60’ per Subdivision Regulations.  The existing right-of-way of 12th Street from New Hampshire to Delaware is 100’, with the exception of 1200 New York (15’ of right-of-way was vacated) and 1145 Pennsylvania (10’ of right-of-way was vacated).

 

Property owners within 200 feet of the proposed vacation request were notified and no objections were received.  No utilities are located in the proposed area and the vacation will not impair the ability of utilities to deliver services in the area.

 

Staff recommends approving the Order of Vacation.
