RE: |
State Project No. 23 U-1956-01 City Project No. 2-BG1-104(S) Kasold Drive (over the KTA) Bridge Improvements
|
The City, County and KTA are jointly participating in the reconstruction of the bridge over the KTA on Kasold Drive. This is a State project funded 80% by KDOT. This project was listed on the City’s 5-Year Plan and the City’s participation is our KDOT funding. We have no “out of pocket” expense. The County and KTA are paying for right-of-way, easements, engineering, and the 20% local match. The City is the project administrator, and all documents between the State and the local agency must come through the City. The County has acquired most of the right-of-way, all in compliance with the State/Federal requirements. The sole remaining easement has been verbally agreed to by the owner; however, they are out of town at the time of this correspondence and have not signed the documents. It is anticipated that the remaining easement will be secured by the November 15th City Commission meeting.
The City Commission needs to approve Resolution No. 6621 verifying that utilities have been relocated and are not in the way of the project construction activities.
The project bids December 8, 2005 and the Certification of Real Property Acquisition Procedures must be turned into KDOT by Wednesday, November 16, 2005 or the project will be moved to a January 2006 letting.
Action Requested:
Authorize the Mayor to sign KDOT Form 1303 for Certification of Real Property Acquisition Procedures.
Approve Resolution No. 6621.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Respectfully submitted,
Charles F. Soules, P.E.
