RE:	Additional Engineering Cost for Monterey Way and Peterson Road Monterey Way South – Stetson Road to Peterson Road – 3-CP1-102(BD) December 6, 2005 Agenda Item

Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the December 6, 2005 meeting:

Project History.  These projects are being paid for through benefit districts.  Landplan Engineering, P.A. was hired in February 2004 to design the project – Monterey Way from Stetson Drive to Grand Vista Drive, and Peterson Road from Martin Park to Kasold Drive.

Project Status.  The project is under construction.  King’s Construction Co., Inc. is the contractor.  The project is to be completed next summer.

Supplemental Engineering Services.  Attached is correspondence from Landplan explaining the additional costs including:  additional services to provide lighting for the roundabout at Monterey Way and Peterson Road, coordination of permitting with Southern Star for Spring Hill and Hutton Farms II access to Monterey Way, and attendance at construction meetings.  The total additional cost is $15,780.16 which will be divided between the projects appropriately.

Project Funding.  The projects are funded with benefit districts.  The city is a partner in Monterey South (Stetson Drive to Peterson Road) and Peterson Road.

Action Request.    Authorize City Manager to execute a purchase order with Landplan Engineering in an amount of $15,780.16 for additional services for Monterey Way – Stetson Drive to Grand Vista Drive, and Peterson Road - Monterey Way to Kasold Drive projects.
