City Manager’s Recommended Budget Released

Annually, the City Manager prepares a recommended budget that is reviewed and revised by the City Commission. The 2014 City Manager’s Recommended Budget has been posted online at http://www.lawrenceks.org/budget. The budget calendar outlines the remaining steps in the budget process.

June Sales Tax Distribution

The City of Lawrence has recently received its June sales tax distribution.  The distribution is the result of retail sales from mid-April to mid-May. The distribution of $2,627,039.27 is $21,000 less than the prior year distribution for the same month. The first half 2013 sales tax distribution was up 1.5% compared to the first half of 2012. City Attorney Elected to Statewide Association Position

Toni Wheeler, City Attorney, was recently elected President of the City Attorney’s Association of Kansas (CAAK) at its annual Spring Meeting held in Kansas City, Kansas on Friday, June 14th. Wheeler has served as a member of the Board of Directors since 2006.
