Authorize the City Manager to execute a license agreement with SCS Engineers, allowing the installation of one monitoring well in the right of way at 829 Ohio Street. |
Executive Summary: |
In 2013, the City entered into an agreement with SCS Engineers (formerly SCS Aquaterra) in conjunction with the Kansas Department Health and Environment (KDHE) for installing monitoring wells and a collection system in the cities right of way for a leaking underground petroleum storage tank at the former Presto Convenience Store #25 located at the intersection of 9th and Ohio.
SCS Engineers has monitored and maintained the installed system since 2013. They wish to install one additional monitoring well in the right of way at 829 Ohio Street to determine how well the cleanup of this site is progressing. SCS has stated it believes that contamination levels are declining. This well, which will be placed in the center of the cleanup area, will provide data to help confirm that trend. |
