Recommendations/Options/Action Requested:
Approve an amendment to the Public Transit service contract with MV Transportation.
Executive Summary:		Public transit service is provided to the City of Lawrence through a service management contract with MV Transportation (MV). This 5-year contract started on January 1, 2014 and runs through December 31, 2018. MV notified the City that it was exercising an opener clause in the service agreement to address their request for compensation adjustments due to considerable service increases above contracted levels. The increase in service levels resulted from strategic policy decisions to enhance Lawrence Transit services. Since the enhanced service levels were not anticipated during the negotiation of the original contract, they were not factored into the scope of services or the compensation formula. The changes addressed by the contract amendment are explained in further detail in the attached MV Contract Memo.

Fiscal Impact (Amount/Source):		The fiscal impact to the City is $227,472. This increase was anticipated and funded in the department’s 2018 adopted budget. Both Federal Transit Administration and local Sales Tax funds will be utilized for this increase.
