Approve the purchase of one (1) articulated loader from Roadbuilders Machinery utilizing the HGAC purchasing contract for $162,595.00. This item was deferred from the March 6, 2018 City Commission Meeting.

 

 

Executive Summary:

 

Unit #490 is the primary articulated loader for the city’s compost facility.  This unit exceeds the replacement criteria and was scheduled for replacement in the 2018 budget CIP (CIP# PW18F4). Budgeted funds for the replacement total $195,000. Central Maintenance requested vendor demos and unit evaluations.  Solid Waste staff operated and reviewed performance and functionality from multiple vendors for compost operations.  Contract pricing was requested for the units that received the highest overall ratings. The Komatsu loader from Roadbuilders Machinery was deemed the unit that supplied the best warranty, maintenance costs, and operation.
