|
Executive Summary: |
One of the priority initiatives adopted with the Strategic Plan was the review of advisory boards and commissions with a desire to create more standardization of the various advisory boards and commissions. On August 8, 2017, the City Commission received a staff report which made certain recommendations regarding potential eliminations and consolidations of advisory boards.
One such recommendation was to eliminate the Sister Cities Advisory Board which will provide the opportunity for the Sister Cities group to re-form as an independent 501(c)(3) and conduct their work as a Governing Board. This will include one city-appointed member which will allow the Sister Cities organization to maintain a connection with the City. The Sister Cities organization is in the process of developing their new structure.
