Assessment Ordinance 7862
|
On August 9th, the City Commission will hold a hearing to
consider the assessments for the Riverside Business Park special assessment
benefit district. Below is a brief chronology of this project. Ordinance No. 7862, levying the
assessments for the benefit district is attached.
- January, 2002 – Bartlett & West chosen to provide a
design for installation of sanitary sewer systems at Riverside Business Park.
- April, 2002 – Bartlett & West completes Anna Hope Area
Study which includes design alternatives for providing sanitary sewer
service to Riverside Business Park. Plans include decommissioning two
lift stations in the area and the construction of a new regional lift
station.
- August 6, 2002 - Resolution
No. 6402 adopted by the City Commission creating a special assessment
benefit district (Lots 1-7 of Riverside Business Park, map ) for the project.
The City agrees to participate in the project due to the construction of a
regional lift station. City to pay 86% of lift station costs, benefit
district to pay 14% per Res. 6402. City would also pay 100% of the costs
for property acquisition.
- August, 2003 – property acquisition completed for the
project. August 19, 2003, City Commission sets bid date.
- September 9, 2003 – bid date for construction of the
project.
- April 6, 2004 – City Commission approves change order to
project costs due to unforeseen rock excavation for construction of the lift
station in the amount of $111,262.50.
- February, 2005 – Project costs for Riverside Project are
finalized.
- April, 2005 – Bartlett & West assists City Utilities
and Legal staff with preparation of final project costs and breakdowns for
City share and benefit district share.
- June, 2005 – Draft assessment ordinance provided to Riverside
Business Park developers/Harris Construction for review.
- July, 2005 – Notice of Hearing letter
was sent to affected property owners
- August, 2005 – Project is ready for assessment hearing.
